Who we are
This website is run by Nexus Websites (formerly Egghead Designs), 18 Lower Marsh Lane, Surbiton KT1 3FE. We are the data controller for the personal information collected through it.

What we collect and why
Enquiries. When you send the contact form we collect your name, email, phone number, website (optional), the plan and services you choose, your message and the page you sent it from. We use this to reply to you and to discuss your project. Lawful basis: steps you ask us to take before a possible contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
Call bookings. If you book a call we collect your name, email, phone number, any note you add and the time you choose, to hold the call and send you a calendar invite. Lawful basis: steps you ask us to take before a possible contract.
Website checks. If you use the free website check we process the web address you enter. If you also give your email, we send you the report and keep it as an enquiry so we can follow up. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, and your request.
Client portal. If you are a client, we hold your account details and the business information and photos you add, so we can build your website. Lawful basis: performing our contract with you.
Analytics. Only if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records how pages are used (pages viewed, device type, approximate location). We use it to improve the website. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the services that run this website and its features:
Our website host, which stores the website and its data; our email provider, which delivers form notifications and replies; Google for reCAPTCHA spam protection on the contact form, Google Analytics (only with your consent), the PageSpeed checks in the free website check, and address suggestions in the client portal; OpenAI, which receives the names of services a client types in the portal so it can suggest questions (no contact details are sent).
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on the safeguards UK law requires, such as adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Enquiries, website-check requests and call bookings are deleted automatically 24 months after they arrive, unless they become part of a client project.
Client portal information is kept for the length of your project and for as long as needed afterwards to support your website. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
Analytics data is kept by Google for up to 14 months.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy to take elsewhere. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email alex@alexplayer.com and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Security
The website uses HTTPS. Enquiries and client information are stored in a password-protected system. Client photos are stored in private, unlisted folders, and we accept image files only.
Changes
We will update this page if the way we use data changes. Last updated: 8 November 2026.
